It is a general rule of thumb in the fundraising industry to be “in the black” before event night so the dollars spent by patrons at the auction go directly towards the school and students. That means we are faced with the challenge of underwriting the cost of our event prior to go-time. With an event of our scale, this is a huge challenge, but with the help of generous supporters, we are able to face that challenge head-on.
